The Chinese Progressive Association (CPA) is a grassroots community organization which works for full equality and empowerment of the Chinese community in Greater Boston and beyond, to improve living and working standards, and to involve ordinary people in decision-making.

Job Description:

The Full-time Office Manager will be responsible for the smooth functioning of daily office activities, including bookkeeping, human resource management, database management, equipment and supplies inventory, overseeing IT systems and building maintenance, light correspondence, organization of mailings, and other organizational support. This position reports to the Deputy Director. 

Job Duties:

  • Manage office inventory, vendor files, and stocking of all supplies
  • Responsible for equipment, office upkeep, and human resource functions
  • Basic server upkeep and liaison to IT support consultant
  • Day-to-day bill payments and bookkeeping
  • Receive and sort incoming mail and deliveries, and manage outgoing mail such as bi-monthly newsletters and other mailings 
  • Coordination of in-person and virtual event logistics, sponsorships, and promotional materials
  • Support member and donor tracking and communications, including updating organizational databases and implementing membership renewal system
  • Provide other administrative support as may be required by the Deputy Director and the Executive Director

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent practical experience required 
  • 3-5 years work experience in an administrative or office management role 
  • Responsible, accurate, honest, and detail-oriented
  • Understanding of bookkeeping and experience in Human Resources preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, and ability to prioritize
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace and Zoom
  • Familiarity with Quickbooks a plus
  • Self-starting and a team player
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Support organization’s grassroots empowerment mission
  • Knowledge and familiarity with the Boston Chinatown neighborhood a plus 
  • Bilingual Chinese/English preferred 

Compensation:

$60,000 to $65,000 depending on experience. Benefits include health, dental, life insurance, 403b, generous holiday/vacation time.
